  • Muista täyttää yhteystietosi, sillä ilman niitä lähetetyt kantelut karsitaan. Neuvosto ei julkaise verkossa kantelijan nimeä, mutta kantelijan nimi menee tiedotusvälineen tietoon. Kantelijan nimi ja yhteystiedot jäävät kuitenkin neuvoston arkistoon. Neuvosto voi myös salata kantelijan nimen ja tiedot, jos kyse on yksityisyyden suojaan liittyvästä asiasta tai muusta perustellusta syystä.
  • Varmista täältä, onko tiedotusväline sitoutunut JSN:n perussopimukseen ja sitä kautta Journalistin ohjeiden noudattamiseen.
  • Kanteluaika päättyy kolme kuukautta jutun ilmestymisen jälkeen. Neuvosto voi ottaa vanhentuneen kantelun käsiteltäväkseen ainoastaan, jos myöhästymiselle on perusteltu syy kuten vakava sairaus.
  • Muista liitteet kuten kaikki tiedotusvälineen kanssa käymäsi kirjeenvaihto sekä tarvittaessa asianomaisen suostumus kantelullesi.

Briefly state which section of the Guidelines for Journalists has been breached and in what manner.

Please send all materials related to the complaint, such as a newspaper article, as attachments, preferably in pdf format. If you have more than five attachments, please pack them into a zip file. The maximum size of the attachment is 10 mb. If the complaint concerns a violation of the privacy of a third party or a third party being presented in very negative publicity, you must acquire a written consent from the party in question. The consent is informal and must be submitted to the Council as an attachment to the complaint.
